As far as castles/chateaus goes, my favorite undiscovered treasure is Pierrefonds. This beautiful gem, almost completely bypassed by tourists, offers a beautiful chateau that was restored in the 19th century by the famous Violet le Duc. Almost as beautiful as Neuschwanstein.
