Paris, France - Thibault Villa
Thibault Home

"The house was great and I have no suggestions except perhaps to tell folks how wonderful the French countryside is... we only went to Paris on two days because there was so much else to see. La Chope restaurant just as you enter Coulomiers was wonderful BTW, and Vaux was so incredibly uncrowded we have pictures in the gardens with no one else in view. Quite a contrast to Versailles. The bakery and bouchierie in St Augustin is a great walk on a beautiful country road, and the lady who owns the boucherie is a French treasure. The price is very reasonable and the home most comfortable and I have recommended it to several of my friends who love to travel."

Paris, France - Thibault Villa :: Bedroom
One of the four bedrooms

There is so much to see and do when based in Saints. Almost 50% of France's greatest monuments are located within day-trip distance of the Thibault Villa Vacation Property and Rental Home.

Our country villa is set on a large lawn with adjoining orchard just on the outskirts of a 1000 year-old village, Saints, located on the valley of Aubetin. The three story house has 3 large bedrooms and one smaller one, a large dining room, living room and kitchen with all modern appliances. Washer and dryer in the basement. We have a garage to protect your rental car and there is also a driveway where one can park an additional car. It's also very safe and quiet. The house has recently undergone an extensive redecoration and some renovation and now features all new wallpaper and paint in most of the rooms. There are beautiful tapistries, some new furniture and even WiFi so that you can bring your laptop to stay in touch. There is a fruit orchard and a small garden, so depending on when you are there, you might be able to enjoy picking fresh apples.

Our wonderful village of Saints has a bakery, cafe and a small foodstore - all within convenient walking distance of about five minutes. Also, the small city of Coulommiers, 6 miles away, has everything you could possibly want, including larger grocery stores, a fun outdoor market twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays and one of the most beautiful parks in France. This market is terrific. You can buy all kinds of fresh foods as well as inexpensive clothes and much more. If you go, you must try some of the famous Brie cheeses, for which our region is so famous. The Coulommiers is just one of the famous cheeses, but it was considered the cheese of the kings and is still considered by many the best of all of the 400 or so French cheeses.

Also located close-by are Paris (of course), the famous chateau of Fontainebleau, the medieval city of Provins (a listed World Heritage town) and several painters favorite spots as well as World War II historical regions such as Belleau Wood. Approximately 1-1/2hours away are the vineyards of Champagne, including the city of Rheims and Epernay.

The 3000 square foot house has 3 large rooms, one small room, 1.5 bathrooms (actually one WC, one bathroom and another WC upstairs), a fully furnished kitchen, a large and beautiful dining room with Louis XV type furnishings, a sun room, a comfortable TV room to relax after a long day, garage, etc. The bed linen and towels are provided as are all of the pots and pans, etc. Pretty much the only thing that is not provided is the food and long-distance on the phone. There is even a computer you can use to surf the internet. The home is built like a rock - and yet spacious, warm and welcoming. You'll have a hard time leaving and find yourself coming back year after year.
